Rodgers Not Want Left Glen Johnson and Lucas

Liverpool - Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, hoping Glen Johnson and Lucas Leiva not leave the club. Rodgers still need senior players like Johnson and Lucas after Steven Gerrard confirmed to go.

After so long resided at Anfield, Gerrard will leave when his contract runs out at the end of this season.
Liverpool skipper will continue his career in Major League Soccer (MLS) with Los Angeles Galaxy.

The loss of senior players and an important figure in the locker room like Gerrard is not favored Rodgers. He did not want to be another senior player.
He said, an important senior players to help the development of young players in his team.

"We want to keep all the players we must not lose three or four players for next season," Rodgers said on Sky Sports.

"Steven certainly is a loss. When you are going to lose someone like him, it is a loss to any club," he added.

"The young players need seniority around them to develop their potential. You can not have a team that was only a young player, "said Rodgers.

Johnson's future at Liverpool is still a question mark. Defender 30-year contract that will expire at the end of this season and there has been no talk of a new contract.

"The ability Glen is no longer the same as six or seven years ago, but he's still a quality player and he's still a lot that can give through his experience.
In the next few years, the game will adjust and we want to keep him",said Rodgers.

"I know this club and his agent to speak ahead of the start of the season and I hope we can find a solution and he will survive," he continued.

Meanwhile, Lucas recently been linked with several other clubs, one of Inter Milan. Rodgers did not want the Brazilian midfielder was gone.


"We want to defend Lucas," said Rodgers.

"He rarely played last season because of a new role Steven lived.
