Etihad Not Friendly to Arsenal, Wenger Ignore Statistics

London - Arsenal had been fairly consistent since defeated Stoke City some time ago. However, the mission Arsenal continue the positive trend overshadowed bad record at home of Manchester City.

Since the defeat at the Britannia Stadium, Arsenal only once suffered defeat in its next eight games when giving up 0-2 at the hands of Southampton to match the new year.

Arsenal three points needed to continue to get closer to the top. Currently, Arsene Wenger is in fifth position with a point of Manchester United in the fourth and three points of Southampton in the third position.

Moreover, a positive result against City will certainly boost the confidence of Arsenal. "I believe in consistency," said Wenger told the official club website. "Last season we failed to win for that reason. We played poorly in big matches at home opponent."

"Now, I believe we have the potential to be more stable and show that we can. Over the years (our record in big matches) are our strength and within two years it's become our weakness," said the Arsenal manager. "I think now we have enough training to fix it."

Home City proved to be friendly for North London forces. In his last five visits to the Etihad in the Premier League, Arsenal only one win, one draw and three defeats, including when beaten 3 - 6 in December 2013.

"History will not play a big role in this game," Wenger confident. "Look at the game which will be the biggest deciding factor and the only part that matters."
