Murcia - Borussia Dortmund are determined to rise after stumbling in the first half of the Bundesliga this season. Senior players Die Borussen, Sebastian Kehl, said his team has big plans in the second half.
Dortmund were crushed in the first half of the season. Champion in 2011 and 2012 and runner-up the last two seasons it was surprisingly dropped in the relegation zone. They were right on top of Freiburg which inhabit the bottom of the standings.
In 17 games in the first half, Dortmund had lost 10 times and only won four times.
Total defeat them is the highest when compared to other teams in the Bundesliga. Kehl and his friends just scored 18 goals and conceded 26 goals already.
Fortunately, Dortmund appear more promising in European competition. They escaped from the group phase of the Champions League as group winners and will face Juventus in the last 16.
Kehl admitted that relegation is an unusual place for Dortmund. But, with the qualities of Dortmund, he is confident his team will be able to improve the position in the standings board.
"The problem is huge, but we also have big plans for the second half of the season," said Kehl quoted Soccerway.
"This is a new situation. We have a lot of strength and we have to remind ourselves of the power-the power of the second half of the season," added the 34-year midfielder.
"We have to show a certain type of game and we did not do that well in the first half of this season," he said.
Dortmund will compete again on January 31 next to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga continued.
